GOTA CANAL
A trip along the Gota Canal is one of Sweden's outstanding attractions that capture the fascination of every traveller. In the delightfully old fashioned speed of 5 knots, these historic canal boats containing less than 30 cabins wind their way through an enchanting waterway linking the cities of Gothenburg on Sweden's west coast, and Stockholm by the Baltic Sea. These old canal boats were custom built to fit through the narrow locks, 65 in total, and the youngest in the fleet, Diana is from 1931. As late as 2004, the boats underwent a total modernisation, making the journey a delightful pleasure.
